A-Z Trivia is provided by A-Z Trivia, LLC.  Contact us with our contact form.

Information we collect:

Accounts
Guest play creates a persistent anonymous account identifier on our server. A guest account is not fully anonymous to the service: its games and reports are associated with that identifier. If you sign in with Google, our authentication provider receives your Google account identifier, email, name, verification information and profile-picture URL. The app currently does not display your Google profile photo. Email/password sign-in sends your credentials to our authentication provider; we do not receive your Google password. Authentication session information is stored on your device to keep you signed in.

Usernames
We store the username you choose and check it for uniqueness and prohibited terms.

Gameplay
We store topics played, assigned questions and answer order, answers selected, unanswered questions, timestamps, response times, scores and whether you finished or left a game. These records support game history, personal statistics, question selection, Global answer percentages and averages, and eligible leaderboard results. Guest gameplay is also stored on the server.

Question reports and support
If you report a question, we collect the selected issue types, additional details, question/answer snapshot, submission time, app version and related account/game identifiers. Support requests may contain your contact details and information you provide. Avoid including sensitive information in question reports.

Technical information
Our hosting and authentication providers process network information such as IP addresses, request and authentication logs, and information needed to deliver and secure the service. We use account/session identifiers and recovery records to authenticate requests, prevent duplicate submissions, support account linking and protect the service.

On-device information
The app stores settings, account-specific cached results, active-game state and pending requests/reports. Pending requests may be sent when a connection becomes available. Signing out does not erase all cached accounts from the phone. Android backup rules exclude the app's authentication preferences and DataStore files from future backup/device transfer.

How we use information

We use this information to operate the game, authenticate accounts, preserve and merge guest history when requested, calculate scores and statistics, display leaderboards, handle reports and support, and maintain security and reliability. The current app does not include advertising, marketing tracking, or a separate analytics/crash-reporting SDK.

Our website uses Google Sites and Google Forms. Information submitted through our contact form is processed by Google and used by A-Z Trivia to respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.   Information submitted with the contact form will be purged after one year.

Information visible to others and service providers

Eligible topic leaderboards display your chosen username, rank, score and number of correct answers to other players. Your account email and individual game history are not displayed there. Global answer percentages and averages display combined results rather than individual player records. Choose a username that does not reveal information you want to keep private.

Supabase provides database hosting and authentication. Google provides Google sign-in. These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy practices. Data may be processed outside your country; the current Supabase project is hosted in the United States. We may disclose information where required by law. 

We will not sell data or use your personal information for any purposes outside of the game.

Retention and deletion

Game history, accounts and submitted reports currently have no automatic age-based deletion schedule and are retained until account deletion. Leaderboard eligibility uses the past 90 days, with expired results cleaned up daily. Global answer percentages and game averages use the past 365 days. These calculation windows do not delete the underlying game history.

In Settings, select "Delete account", enter DELETE, and confirm. This deletes your A-Z Trivia identity, profile, games, answers, question reports and leaderboard records, including retired guest identities merged into the account. It does not delete your Google account. Account deletion requires connectivity and may need Retry to confirm completion.

You can also request deletion without reinstalling the app with our contact form We verify account ownership before acting.  All requests will be responded to within 48 hours.

Service-provider logs and any existing backups may persist according to the provider's retention arrangements. A deletion-recovery receipt contains a random proof hash and completion timestamp, without your account ID, email or game content. Local hashed deletion markers prevent late writes from restoring deleted data. These technical receipts currently have no automatic expiration. Previously cached information on another offline device may remain until that device reconnects or its app data is removed. Information copied by other people from public leaderboards is outside our control.

Security and choices

App requests use HTTPS. Server access rules restrict private account data, and the app uses account-specific local storage. No security measure guarantees complete protection.

You may play as a guest without providing a Google account or email. A persistent guest identity and gameplay records are still required. Google sign-in, a public username and question reports are optional. A permanent account and valid username are required for leaderboard eligibility.

Age eligibility

A-Z Trivia is intended for people ages 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not use the app, including guest play, or provide personal information through it.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to A-Z Trivia, contact us with our contact form. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information and the associated account.

Where local law requires a higher minimum age or parental authorization for the processing of personal information, those requirements also apply. Our stated 13+ audience does not override local legal requirements.

Changes and Contact
